I am a candidate for the United States Congress. We need new direction in Washington, not another representative who takes her marching orders from political bosses. I believe the middle class has endured enough. I shall advocate its needs, not those of the wealthy and well-connected. Unlike the other candidates for nomination to this office I have served in elective office and have an exemplary record doing so. I ask you to help me in this campaign.
A political campaign for an office of this nature is expensive. The district from Pt.
Pleasant to Harpers Ferry is a 7 hour drive I would appreciate whatever help you can
offer. $50 provides two-hundred direct mail pieces, $100 buys fifty yard signs and $500
pays for a radio spot. The necessary television ads are, needless to say, significant. As a
federal office, funding for Congress is nationwide in its scope. My opponent holds fund-
raisers in Washington, D.C. and $1,000 plate dinners here in West Virginia. My goals
are more reasonable and realistic for potential donors.
I am inviting you to join me at a fundraising reception in the lobby of the South
Charleston Memorial Ice Arena at Trace Fork Shops Thursday April 10, 2008 from 5:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be light refreshments, the cozy fireplace, and some of the
area’s top figure skaters performing for your entertainment. If you cannot make this
event, I am also enclosing a self-addressed envelope and asking you to consider mailing
in a contribution. Thank you for taking the time to consider this message.
