The Economy
The American economy in recent years has tilted against the middle class and lower income citizens. We need to reverse this in terms of wages, taxes and medical care.
Too many of America’s jobs are of the low paying variety that are no longer able to support families. To change this trend Richie proposes to assure all international trade agreements are being fairly applied, a renewed investment in the nation’s public infrastructure, balance in labor-management relations and tax policies that favor moderate and low income families as opposed to the wealthy.
America also needs to wean itself away from foreign energy sources, a matter which is also addressed in the section on national security. Education that will enable us to compete in a global economy is a necessity.
