RICHIE ROBB CONGRESS – SECOND DISTRICT
Glib commentary will not unseat a formidable political figure like Shirley Moore Capito. It takes one willing to go toe to toe with her on her record over the past
eight years. My public record over the past 32 years demonstrates I am the person
seeking this nomination who will do this. We owe no less to the voting public. West
Virginians wants change. I am the only candidate for this nomination who has
shown a willingness to confront Capito on her record and that of here support for the
Bush administration.
The other two individuals, Anne Barth and Thornton Cooper, prattle on constantly about
what a nice person Mrs. Capito is. Barth even avoided the Charleston Daily Mail, the
state’s largest newpaper and an avid supporter of Capito, for its candidate interview. Barth said she had a previous engagement even though the interview had been scheduled a month in advance. Then she boasted of replying to the newspaper’s questions by email. That hardly constitutes the face to face encounters it will take to unseat the incumbent. Republican blogs and web sites continue to cluck over Barth’s handlers yanking her from an interview with WSAZ TV when the questions became more pointed and piercing.
A candidate cannot dodge the largest newspaper in the state and the largest television
station in the state and hope to unseat an entrenched and savvy incumbent like Shelley
Moore Capito.
