The purpose of primary elections is to allow the people to choose the party's nominee. Instead in this primary election we have the Democratic Party establishment attempting to dictate the outcome. This is the problem we currently have with the incumbent adhering to her party's establishment. What is accomplished if we merely exchange one mouthpiece for another?

Richie Robb is distinguished from the other candidates in this race as the only one ever elected to public office. He was elected Mayor of South Charleston, the district's third largest city eight consecutive terms from1975 to 2007. Richie is the only candidate who has ever served in elective office — 32 years. He has a proven record of performance in elective office and of representing the people, not marching to the orders of political bosses.
